Artist Bonnie Bews uses the art form of Hinterglas, a technique that allows the application of charcoal and/or watercolour to glass (developed by Rudolf Schmid/Germany). Bonnie seeks her inspiration from Muskoka’s natural enviroment. It energizes her paintings not only with ideas, but also by the way she perceives and applies the paints in soft delicate lines, bold brushstrokes and vibrant colours. She demonstrates vividly that glass painting is a beautiful and vivacious art form. Behind the Iron Forest Bonnie Bews is part of an art collaboration with Brendan Duggan and Conel O’Regan. The show is an exploration of how the artists interpret the landscape as it pertains to their personal Muskoka landscape experience. Themes of mysticism, natural phenomenon and spirtualism are explored. The work includes 2D and 3D collaborations as well as their individual pieces. Take a walk with the artists into the Iron Forest and discover what lives in the darker recesses of their imagination and reality. Visit Bonnie’s Web Site
